Project Description
Marin Elementary School is composed of one existing single story building (Building A), consisting of three-pod buildings and two new 2-story classroom buildings (Building B & D).
Pragmatic Professional Engineers (PPE) performed energy, heating, and cooling analysis to engineer an energy efficient, and cost effective solution to provide heatong and cooling for these buildings. PPE selected a Variable Refrigerant Flow (VRF) system to serve the two new classroom buildings and a mini-vrf split system for the existing Administration and Library pod buildings. The existing multi-purpose pod building HVAC was replaced with heat pump package units. The aim is to have an all electric HVAC system for the campus in order to achieve future net zero energy goals. The mechanical design will be undergoing DSA and CHPS design review.
