Electrical Engineer
San Jose, California
You will join our team of degreed and licensed engineers and designers to meet the electrical engineering needs of our projects. We’re looking for experienced and talented technical team members to assist our clients, from small businesses to Fortune 500 companies, in making their electrical building systems work, identifying energy-savings opportunities, and saving money. You will play a key role in a growing company. Some travel is required, but mostly on day trips to job sites in the San Francisco Bay Area. A local candidate is preferred.
Key Responsibilities
Design and develop electrical systems and components for a range of projects, including power distribution, lighting, control, and communication systems.
Collaborate with other engineers and team members to develop and implement electrical design solutions that meet project requirements.
Conduct technical feasibility studies, cost estimates, and project timelines for proposed electrical designs.
Conduct thorough research to identify the latest trends, techniques, and technologies in the electrical engineering field, and integrate them into the design process.
Develop and maintain accurate documentation, including technical specifications, schematics, wiring diagrams, and test reports.
Provide technical support to other departments, including mechanical and plumbing departments, or our clients as required.
Ensure that all electrical designs comply with relevant safety standards, building codes, and local or client regulations.
Participate in design reviews, project meetings, and other team activities to ensure that project milestones are achieved on time and within budget.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in electrical engineering or a related field.
At least three years of experience in electrical engineering for building power and lighting systems.
Strong knowledge of electrical design principles, including power distribution, interior and exterior lighting systems, lighting control systems, and communication/fire alarm systems.
Experience using electrical design software, such as AutoCAD, Revit, or SolidWorks Electrical. Design Master experience is a plus.
Familiarity with relevant safety standards or regulations such as NEC, IEC, and UL.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to identify and solve complex technical problems.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Professional electrical engineering license is a plus.

Salary Range

Senior Mechanical Engineer/Account Executive
Hawaii
You will join our team of degreed and licensed engineers and designers to maintain and increase our client relationships in the Hawaiian Islands and Guam as well as managing and mentoring the members of our Hawaiian engineering team. You will play a key role in a growing company. This position has a hybrid home-based office and in-person office in the Hawaii area. Some travel is required, but mostly on day trips to job sites in the islands. A local candidate is preferred.
Jobs from California will sometimes be handled by this team The primary market share is in the engineering design of the heating, air conditioning, ventilation, and plumbing systems of buildings for the purpose of permitting and construction. Electrical and fire suppression engineering and design will be handled by team members on the mainland.
Key Responsibilities
Act as the Hawaiian Sales Executive to increase market share and maintain customer satisfaction of the existing clients on the islands.
Managing projects as the lead engineer.
Generate engineering and design proposals for drawing packages, specifications, reports, and life cycle costing to evaluate the feasibility, net present value, and maintenance requirements of alternate or retrofit designs.
Read and interpret construction drawings, documents, and schematics.
Attend meetings with owners, clients, or architects on jobs or to assist in marketing efforts.
Review contractor submittals and deliverables from team members to insure they meet the design intent.
Evaluate, select, and apply standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria.
Confer with other engineers and other personnel to implement operating procedures, resolve system discrepancies with design intent, and provide technical information.
Specify system components or direct modification of products to ensure conformance with engineering design and performance specifications.
Provide feedback and guidance to design engineers on customer problems and needs. Mentor the team members to help them grow more productive.
Coordination with other trades.
Administrating onsite commissioning, where necessary, leading the team from pre-design through post-occupancy phases of the work.
Conducting site surveys and facilities assessments.
If work on the islands becomes slow, then the following tasks could be assigned.
Identifying and quantifying new business opportunities.
Performing engineering and design for projects in California.
Qualifcations
Account or client management executive experience.
Professional Engineering License – preferably in California and Hawaii
Experience in HVAC and Plumbing design
Project Management experience and a talented technical writer
Experience leading and mentoring people.
Experience with Revit/AutoCAD, energy modeling experience a plus
Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering (minimum)
Seven or more years of experience
Variable air volume (VAV) reheat and double duct systems
Variable refrigerant flow (VRF) systems
Single and multi-zone package units.
Agricultural grow room systems with tight relative humidity control.
Data center systems – both raised floor and non-raised floor.
·Hydronic piping and pumping
Experience with HVAC controls, but fully capable of writing a sequence of operation (SOO)
CFD simulation analysis experience would be a plus.
Salary Range
$125k to $175k base salary per year, depending on experience and place of work. Commissions can supplement this salary depending on sales volume and profitability of jobs sold.
