Division Manager, Plumbing

San Francisco Bay Area, California

The Division Manager is accountable for all responsibilities within their division. These are listed below under “Key Responsibilities” followed by “Additional Responsibilities”. There are responsibilities that can be delegated as indicated below:

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement strategic plans to achieve division SMART goals.

  • Manage and mentor staff to enhance their performance and professional development.

  • Monitor financial performance and ensure the division operates within budget.

  • Collaborate with other divisions to streamline processes or improve performance.

  • Analyze market trends and adapt strategies to maintain competitive advantage.

  • Ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations.

  • Report on the division's performance to Operations Manager.

  • Review and recommend continuing education on RightNow Media, vendor webinars, or self-study to members in the division.

Additional Responsibilities

Business Development

  • Conduct ongoing market research and identify and research potential clients. 

  • Develop and maintain client relationships. 

  • Coordinate with sales teams to develop mutually beneficial proposals. 

  • Negotiate contract terms with clients and communicate with stakeholders. 

  • Monitor project teams to ensure contracts are executed as agreed. 

  • Gather useful information from customer and competitor data. 

  • Make and give presentations to prospective clients and internal executives. 

  • Create and implement processes and policies to support the overall business. 

  • Track, identify and add qualified prospects to sales pipeline. 

  • Develop and manage strategic partnerships to grow business. 

  • Help with pricing for creating proposals. 

  • Drive the end-to-end sales process. 

  • Review, prepare, and submit sales contracts.

Time Off & Billing

  • Monitor employees' timecards for Unpaid and Paid Time Off.

  • Create invoices and billing materials to be sent directly to a customer. Informing customers of any missed or upcoming payment deadlines. 

Sales

  • Be knowledgeable and answer questions about our services. 

  • Identify prospective customers, lead generation and conversion. 

  • Contact new and existing customers to discuss needs. 

  • Emphasize the features of products to highlight how they solve customer problems. 

  • Negotiate prices and terms and prepare sales agreements. 

  • Collaborate with colleagues in different divisions to make sure that the client has a complete package without any holes in the scope of work. 

  • Maintain contact lists and follow up with customers to continue relationships. 

Salary Range

$140k to $200k base salary per year, depending on experience. Commissions can supplement this salary depending on sales volume and profitability of jobs sold.

HVAC Engineer

San Francisco Bay Area, California

You will join our team of degreed and licensed engineers and designers to meet the HVAC engineering needs of our projects. We’re looking for experienced and talented technical team members to serve our clients, from small businesses to Fortune 500 companies, in making their mechanical building systems work, identifying energy-savings opportunities, and saving money. You will play a key role in a growing company. Some travel is required, but mostly on day trips to job sites in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and development of HVAC systems, including equipment selection, layout, and specification.

  • Perform detailed energy analysis and load calculations.

  • Develop construction documents and specifications.

  • Coordinate with other disciplines (e.g., electrical, plumbing) to ensure project integration.

  • Manage HVAC projects within the HVAC division, ensuring timelines and quality standards are met.

  • Begin leading small project teams within the HVAC division, ensuring tasks are allocated efficiently and completed on time.

  • Monitor project progress and adjust schedules as needed to meet client and project goals.

  • Prepare and present internal "lunch-and-learn" sessions.

  • Pursue professional licensure (e.g., PE) and maintain knowledge of relevant codes and standards.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience working for an engineering consultant.

  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline.

  • Proven ability to lead small teams and manage projects within the HVAC discipline.

  • Preferred: Professional engineering license in at least one state of the USA.

  • Updated profile on NCEES portal.

  • Only candidates residing in or relocating to the San Francisco Bay Area will be considered at this time.

Salary Range

$85k to $130k base salary per year, depending on experience. Commissions can supplement this salary depending on sales volume and profitability of jobs sold.
