Project Description
The Freestyle Academy project involves the construction of three new classroom buildings (A, B, and C) with a main entry canopy and associated support spaces. These buildings house general education classrooms for subjects such as English, digital media, film study, design, animation, digital photography, and recording. The project also includes support spaces like a conference room, staff toilet, and gender-neutral toilets. Classified under occupancy type E and construction type II-B, Freestyle Academy is targeting LEED Silver certification, adhering to Title 24 Commissioning and CALGreen codes.
Pragmatic Professional Engineers managed the commissioning through Eichler Associates Inc. for the HVAC, lighting controls, plumbing, and irrigation systems. Key features of the project include:
HVAC System: Installation of heat pumps, duct silencers, split system indoor/outdoor units, supply fans, electric heaters, and exhaust fans.
Lighting Control System: Implementation of Wattstopper controls.
Plumbing System: Installation of instantaneous electrical water heaters and a tank electric water heater.
