Project Description

Silicon Valley Mechanical hired Pragmatic Professional Engineers to perform HVAC Tenant Improvement engineering design and services at 505 N. Mathilda Avenue, which is occupied by a large high-tech company. The revised architectural changes included addition of state-of-the-art software and hardware labs, audio and video production studios/labs and densification of office areas.

Our design aimed at utilizing the (4) existing 120-ton packaged units to serve lab and office spaces. The building air distribution system was Variable Air Volume (VAV) with hot water reheat. All lab spaces have also been provided with VRF systems, intended for 24x7 supplemental cooling only. The IDF/MDF rooms are also being served by VRF systems with N+1 redundancy.

A chiller has also been installed to handle the process cooling loads of some of the lab spaces.
