Welcoming Our Newest Team Members (Q2 2024)

Summer has officially begun at Pragmatic Professional Engineers, and we're excited to introduce some bright new talents joining our team this season! As we soak in the sunny days, let's extend a warm, sunlit welcome to our newest members. Each of them brings a burst of fresh energy and expertise that is as refreshing as a summer breeze. From enthusiastic apprentices to expert professionals, our new colleagues are ready to contribute their unique skills to our projects and community. Their innovative approaches and diverse experiences promise to amplify our team's spirit and propel us towards new heights and achievements.

 

Joshua Arndt - Engineering Apprentice, Mechanical

After previously working as an intern, Joshua Arndt has joined as an apprentice eager to learn engineering and become a valuable of member Pragmatic. He is also attending Liberty University to earn a bachelor’s in civil engineering. He enjoys reading, exercising, and hiking with friends in his free time.

 

Edmund Lam - Senior Revenue Operations Manager

Edmund lives by the motto: “turning chaos into order.” With a deep-seated passion for leveraging data and business technology, Edmund is dedicated to helping Pragmatic discover strategic business opportunities, streamline operations, and elevate the company’s thought leadership to clients and beyond.

Edmund holds an MBA from UC Berkeley, a Master’s in Electrical Engineering, and a Bachelor’s in Computer Engineering from Georgia Tech.

Before joining Pragmatic, Edmund held various senior product management roles in the high-tech industry for many years, where he honed his skills in innovation and efficiency. He also made significant contributions to nonprofits, using technology to better serve local communities in a more personal and impactful way. With a unique blend of business acumen and technical expertise, Edmund is driven to help organizations scale efficiently, sustainably, and with purpose.

Outside of work, Edmund is a devoted husband to his wife and a proud father of two school-age daughters. He enjoys lifestyle photography, reading, hiking, and traveling. Additionally, he is passionate about mentoring young men, helping to guide them towards fulfilling futures.

 

Brian Moore - Team Member, Fire Protection

With over 26 years of experience in the engineering field, Brian Moore is a seasoned expert in fire protection design. He specializes in sprinkler systems, fire protection inspections, project management, and organizational tasks. Brian earned his Associate of Science degree in Computer-Aided Drafting from ITT Technical Institute in San Bernardino, California, in 2000 and achieved NICET Level III Certification in October 2011. He is proficient in using industry-standard software like AutoSprink, SprinkCAD, and HydraCAD.

Personal Interests: Brian is an avid gamer and enjoys immersing himself in different worlds through his gameplay.

Fun Fact: He loves listening to audiobooks while working, finding that they help him focus and enhance his productivity.

 

Jonah Oshana - Intern, Mechanical

Jonah Oshana is a student at Texas A&M University, currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering. He has completed two previous internships aiding in the design of both simple and complex commercial and residential HVAC systems. He enjoys working with either Revit or AutoCAD on the projects he is assigned, and has ambitions to one day obtain his Professional Engineer (PE) certification.

In his free time, Jonah enjoys spending time with friends, hiking, and watching football. He is a major fan of the Dallas Cowboys, and his Fightin’ Texas Aggies!

 

Daniel Polous - Intern, Electrical

Daniel is an electrical engineering intern that has previously worked at Pragmatic over the course of the summer of 2023. Throughout this summer, Daniel worked on many projects alongside the electrical engineers at Pragmatic Professional Engineers where he learned his fascination with the extensiveness of the engineering industry, as well as the passion he had for electrical engineering. Daniel is currently studying the field of electrical engineering at San Jose State University with just recently completing his first year.

In his free time Daniel enjoys weightlifting, playing sports such as baseball and basketball, and spending time with friends and family.
