Project Description

The lobby and restroom upgrade project of this building dedicated in 1975 presented several challenges. The existing utilities were concealed behind sheetrock and spline ceilings and the existing infrastructure needed to be replaced. The mechanical contractor had some ideas of how to replace the systems, but Pragmatic PE offered alternatives that gave the school a better facility than simply replacing the original. A major design challenge was minimizing the intrusion of the existing architectural elements and minimizing shutdown time of the facility.

Santa Clara University appreciated our role in the project so much that Pragmatic PE became a regular vendor of MEP engineering services for the school’s future projects.
