Project Description
The Fremont Union High School District Maintenance and Operations Facility project involved the retrofit of existing building spaces across three buildings. These buildings include a mechanical loft, warehouse, garage, storage spaces, shop spaces, IT staff offices, breakroom, general offices, IDF rooms, electrical rooms, compressed gases/flammables storage spaces, and a walk-in freezer space. Classified under various occupancy types (B, F-1, S-1, U, H2, and S2) and construction types (V-A and V-B), this project was completed in August 2023, adhering to Title 24 Commissioning and CALGreen codes.
Pragmatic Professional Engineers managed the commissioning through Eichler Associates Inc. for the new HVAC equipment, lighting controls, plumbing, and irrigation systems. Key features of the project include:
HVAC System: Installation of fan coils, a heat recovery unit, energy recovery ventilators, ceiling fans, gas unit heaters, cooling-only split systems, and exhaust fans.
Lighting Control System: Implementation of Wattstopper controls.
Plumbing System: Installation of an electric water heater.
This project aimed to enhance the operational efficiency and functionality of the maintenance and operations facility, providing modernized workspaces and storage solutions.
