Project Description

The A1 Extracts lab in Oakland featured large chamber rooms for research and development of Cannabis extraction in addition to a small office and retail room. Some of the tools and processes were similar to the Fremont facility, but many of the rooms and the processes within the chamber were new. Pragmatic PE studied the Fremont site and coordinated with the scientist to provide utilities and equipment for adequate environmental control of the lab areas and the chambers. The challenge on the process piping side was related to fire/life safety of the flammable extraction gases associated with the product manufacturing.

During the construction, Pragmatic PE worked with A1 Extracts to keep the mechanical contractor accountable to install the system as engineered to avoid compromising the performance of the facility which would have happened as a result of the contractor’s value-engineered proposal.
